Hong Kong Nite Life

...It's 5 of us, so we have 2 rooms, one with an extra bed. Turns out there is a special on, and Regina and I can upgrade to the Executive suite for 30Hong Kong dollars..and our breakfast would be included... Sounds like a sweet deal... 27th floor...here we go... WHAT??? we have to be in the wrong room...my walkin closet at home is bigger than this! There are two single beds side by side, a desk, and a bathroom that's about 12 inches wide and 36 inches long...This can't be the Executive suite... We take a look at the other girl's room, and it's about the same size, with another hidden room for the 3rd bed... Ok...so we need to see what the regular room looks like, cause it doesn't look like it's worth our while upgrading... We head down to the front desk and they get someone to show us a regular room...LOL...LOl.... yes, the Executive suite is a GREAT improvement!... We are laughing so hard, our stomach hurts...Audrey mentions that she heard the rooms in Hong Kong are really small...I guess we didn't realize how small....

We are starving, so we get dressed and head out to find the Irish pub... WHy am i not surprised?... We have to get 2 cabs as we all can't fit in one... We arrive at the strip, and we stroll around, deciding where we want to eat...The city is very modern, a lot like Shenzhen. Tons of foreign (westerners) around..mostly men... i guess there aren't too many foreign business women... A little bit of history...Until 1997, Hong Kong was owned by the British, before being handed back to china... So English is most often the spoken word here, and the people don't even look that Chinese to me... They are friendlier, girls are prettier, and way better dressers than in Dalian...and yes, they are all about their Western men... I also realized we must be in the red light district, as it's soon becomes apparent that these pretty girls, are ladies of the night... There are tons of clubs on the strip..with girls sitting outfront in black knee boots with stiletto heels....and lingerie...sitting in front of doors with black or red velvet curtains... I am so tempted to try to go inside, but sure they wont' let me in... A curtain is parted, and i see red velvet covered benches in row.....Ummmmmmh..... i guess the action behind the curtains requires seats...lol.... It is very open here....i wasn't brave enough to take a picture of the working girls...but sure wished i did...

We settle on this Mexican restaurant....even the waitresses are Mexican..this is so different from Dalian.... we all order fajitas...heaven...no chinese food...we can read the menus....life.....The conversation turns to Weight Watchers...and everyone is onboard for losing weight... We are forming our own little group, and the session starts Wednesday, 2 days after we return to Dalian..so eat to our hearts content tonight....The food is really good and i am stuffed...probably shouldn't have gotten the icecream..... ahhh.......
