Hot Pot

This is atually a style of cooking and not the name of the restaurant as i thought...Makes sense to me now, as i understand what was the purpose of the corded cabling looking sructure and the silver stove like thing in the middle of the table i saw when i went to Bashu the first time... You actually cook your own food at the stove in your table... Pretty cool, huh? It's ok..... if you like boiled food....

You order from the picture menu...vegetables, meat and tofu, if you wish... Then they bring the food out on separae plates, meat on one, vegetables on another and tofu.... all the meats look like bacon, and they are rolled like they would be on a lunchmeat platter..Don't think that the meat is seasoned, or that the fat is trimmed off either.. My coworker loves it...so he orders... lamb, beef and shrimp for me.... The pot is divided into the hot/spicy side, and then the mild side... so depending on the flavor u are looking for, decides which side you drop the food into the pot...

You also get to mix your own sauce...they start u off by bringing a sample they mix..and then u can spice it up as u wish... i tried mine, and at first it was ok...but then the peanut taste was getting to me...so at the fixing table i made a brand new concoction.... minus the peanut sauce... nuff garlic, escalion, peppers, and two different brown sauce...don't ask as i have no idea what they were...

The food was ok... at least the shrimp... mi and then boiled fatty fatty meat wasn't seeing eye to eye...mi did have to ask the coworker where is the rice...it look like the rice is not really a given... him ate just the meat and the vegetables...mi needed rice as mi can't eat so so meat and call that dinner....

Will i go back and do Hot Pot? You know me better than that... however, the ready cooked food dishes i will definitely partake of....
