China/North Korean Bridge

Whoever told me it was getting warmer in China, must not have any concept of what warmth is...I am wearing 3 tops, a jacket and a scarf, and i am still freezing...and being along the water front sure isn't helping matters any.... God, i wish i had long johns under my jeans.....

Finally made it to the China/North Korean bridge....

From the bridge, you could actually see the North Korean shore, and fishermen near the shoreline. You could also view the soldiers patrolling the borders through the telescopes...but i wasn't up to feeding the telescopes for the view... The actual demolition of the bridge, resulting in the separation of the two countries, was brought about by American fighter jets, back in 1950.

Our picture taking infront of the historical wall before proceeding to the bridge, was rudely interupted, by a chinese national not wanting to wait his turn to take pics of the wall... All i heard was the loud talking, followed by some rapid gestures and next thing i know, i was being pushed out the way...lol... My chinese coworker argued with the guy, i am assuming telling him we were almost done and then the wall was all his... All this while, i stood my ground, thinking to myself...how dare u push me out the way...dude, it is sooo on....lol....Ahhh...did it ever occur to me, that this man was 3 times my size, not to mention, who knows how well I was being received, as an American? .... I see the ole teggareg in me was coming out....

We did the bridge walk, took some pictures, clowned around a bit, and then we were off to the next stop on our journey. Now it's starting to rain... this weather sucks...Arghhhh... Supposedly, this stop is the original great wall... or part of.... The group decided against paying the $60 RNB per person just to go in and take pics, so we conducted our picture taking from outside the gate.... The extent of the area we were not allowed in, was just a parking lot...with debris, mostly bricks and broken down structures on both sides.... so i would think we did not miss out on a whole lot....

Onto our final stop..... Bing Yu Gou.... natural landscape beauty.... Raining, and freezing, i wasn't sure how this boat ride tour was going to go down... I wanted to go home, but the crew insisted on making the trek since we were almost there. There is not enough water, so no boat...great, I get to go home...to warmth.... What??? they want to hike it instead? Oh man.....Jaimey and i resigned ourselves to another 3 hour nap time in the car, as there is no way, i was going hiking in the rain, in below freezing temperatures.....

Sooo..... I had to resort to my jamaican background....as there was no way, i was using another standup bathroom.....Poor Jaimey...driving around to find a secluded spot....lol.....

3 hours later, and here comes the rest of the crew from their hike and picture taking...I hope they realize what a great team player i have been.... and if they dare open their mouth to request one more stop from the driver.... all hell about to pop loose.... Next stop, the Inn Fine...home sweet home!

Ahhh..... out the car, into the lobby....bellman in tow with the suitcases.....what a weekend!
