After grocery shopping, we decided to chill at Starbucks, which is at the bottom level of the An Sheng shopping center. Much to my surprise, the place was full...filled with teenagers with laptops, notebooks, bookbags, IPOD's..power chords running all across the floor...doing homework or just hanging out...can't beat the free wireles..... it's funny as i hear they are there all day....evidently it doesn't matter if they are patronizing Starbucks or not...i saw a couple girls returning with their subway sandwiches.....
We get skinny lattees and some kinda chicken sandwich with melted cheese..... if memory serves me right...this is like my 3rd time in Starbucks...the second time in China..... need to quit this habit before it starts....
The conversation turns to movies, and DVD's we can get for $2....and they are right here in An Sheng....so we head off to the spot... i am amazed....the spot is at the bottom of the elevator, and a man sits right in the store, copying the movies on the computer....then they get put in the authentic movie cover cases...complete with the plastic cover....just like the real thing.... old release, new release, prerelease, you name it, it's there...and if not, you can order it...LOL.... I pick out 5...Alice in Wonderland...New York's Finest, and some other older ones... one with Steven Segal and one with Richard Gere.... my two main men...doesn't matter what they star in...i could watch them all day... all night..... 75RMB (almost $10)... i am set for now... Caveat... they will only play in DVD's in China..or my laptop...no problem... i can hook the laptop up to my tv...problem solved.....
